I don't agree that "The FPS genre is notoriously crowded" It may appear that way, but when you think about it, how many FPS games are actually good? By that I mean realism, graphics, and good game play including controls. COD4 is the best on the market, and other new games such as "Fronlines Fuel of War"
looks great, and it would be a good game, but it's choppy, not enough time put into playable graphics. "Turning Point Fall of Liberty" Good Idea, but the controls suck, you constantly go into a 3rd party view, like climbing ladders.WHY??? So, there may be a lot of FPS games on the market, but as COD4 proved, If it's that good, It's in a genre all it's own, and that's what game makers need to keep in mind. MAKE THEM BETTER THAN THE LAST OR THE GAME WILL FAIL.

I HOPE TIBERIUM IS GREAT, B/C IT LOOKS GREAT, BUT SO DID "Fronlines Fuel of War" AND "Turning Point Fall of Liberty". NOT THE CASE...

Put "C&C" back in the title! Renegade was also tagged as C&C being a non-RTS and even Generals as a non-C&C was named after that.

If you took a long hard look at C&C Renegade and it's community, you would see that we were eagerly anticipating a new C&C FPS. And when EA announced a new FPS, I was jumping with excitement, only... two things disappointed me,
    - no C&C in the name - Yeah, so what if you don't have the RTS aspect of Command, you still have players who use a small thing called teamwork. Plus if it has GDI & Nod, it's a C&C in my book any day of the week, no questions asked!

And secondly - The Mode that made C&C Renegade Multiplayer, C&C Mode. It has a unique gameplay style which I have not seen in any other game and would give my left nut to have it in a sequel FPS.

I mean don't get me wrong Renegade is a brilliant game (Love it / Hate it game) to me and thousands of other people out there, it's still a well played game because the developers in the community have updated it time and time again for the greater good. For example, Anti-Cheat (The client which was produced specifically for the job and a central server running 24/7), New Scripts (Easy to install and introduced many game enhancements. Some of which include the graphics that bring them into a bit more modern times from when the game was released, bloom, shaders etc.) and the MP servers and Forums are hosted by the community.

Now if a new game was released which had ALL of this AND some MORE, that would score 10/10 in my mind!

Some may disagree, but those are my thoughts! :o)

It looks good, but squad command? This is just copying the Conflict games. Will there be normal walking around and shoot them FPS?

Okay I heard that its going to be a 4v4 battle. whats up with that even if each player have their own NPC units with them it will be nothing like what it should. Youll be playing computers No Bueno! Seriously think of the Renegade online and twist it make its own ideas...hell look at call of duty..air strikes..and also look at old CnC games and how the characters lived in the game. It has to be that way or it will not be a game that will be craved for years to come.

Yo, i have one concern. I will be very upset if they dont make tiberium like renegade. Renegade was one of the best games i played for a while. The idea of chosing your own weapon, your own tank was a great idea. I belive this game should have that same feature. AM I RIGHT?(oh and i also loved how u had to destroy buildings).!!!!!!!!!!!

The real problem started with them placing Chris Plummer in charge. The dude had no idea how to make a video game and had mostly marketing experience - no actual game dev experience other then a few nightmare projects at EALA. He didn't listen to any of the more experienced staff and changed his mind every few months, causing the team to churn and burn things over and over. The project ended up costing as much as a Hollywood movie and wasting years of people's time. You simply cannot succeed when the guy at the head of the project has no idea what he's making, and no idea how to really do it. I'm amazed they let him churn and burn for 4 years on it. Sad... there were some great ideas in the game and some great people on the team.
