International developer are shaking up their plan somewhat, launching its first free to download and play game - Dungeon Runners. The MMO will be all about the 'swords-and-shields' we're told, and players will journey into the game to battle monsters, enemies and gather loot.

Dungeon Runners, currently available via free download for the PC, has a play-for-free tier where players can access large chunks of the game, while a "membership level" is also available for for 4.99 USD per month where players are given: "log-in queue priority and access to the most powerful items, weapons and armour". Membership status also offers bank storage for up to 220 loot items and the ability to stack potions in one slot to save room for even more loot.

While there are different character-types to choose from, NCsoft promise a classless system, allowing players to mix abilities irrespective of their archetype. The game will feature a strong tongue-in-cheek element, and there will be a focus on and battles, as well as gold, armour, magic and the like.

"Dungeon Runners is a lot of fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. But the game will take players into an action packed-adventure, where they blaze through a maze of dungeons, face fierce monsters and formidable opponents to become a hero," beams Stephen Nichols, NCsoft’s producer and lead programmer for Dungeon Runners. "Regardless if a player pays to be a member or plays for free, Dungeon Runners will deliver more than 200 hours of game play and a continually growing number of missions and quests. The game is also designed to appeal to gamers who have limited time to give to a game, but it will have the content to keep players adventuring for hours at a time."

I sampled it...didn't like it enough to play past the 1st time you get to town. It's like Dungeon Siege style crossed with the side-scrolling bird's-eye-view temples (or whatever they were) from the original Zelda for NES.

i think dungeon runners should have a smaller storage for the free players and i stand by it i love that theres two different ways to play but comeone at least give the free players a smaller storage box than the membership like half the inventory of the char would do and the game would be ten times better im tellin ya people will love it and thank the developers who do it(if they do)
