As part of a new deal between giant AMD and game maker Valve, the 2 developer will offer those in possession of Radeon graphics card access to free games via the content delivery system.

Those running a Radeon graphics card in their will find their card is automatically detected when they sign-up for Steam online. Access will then be granted to free downloads of Half-Life 2: Lost Coast and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch.

The deal will also see Valve's Steam software bundled with future Radeon products, and those purchasing a 2900 XT model card in the future will get free downloads of Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress later this year.

While Steam was first created to distribute products like Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike, the content delivery system has become popular with third-party developers and publishers, who use the platform to promote and publish various PC game releases.
