Massive global publishing powerhouse EA, today secured long-term publishing rights with Sweden’s Digital Illusions, by purchasing a stake in the developer, whose last project was the super-popular Battlefield 1942.

CEO Patrick Soderlund enthused: "Battlefield 1942 showed us what we could do with the right publishing partner for its original IP. We are a company with tremendous talent, powerful intellectual properties and many ideas for new games. Now, with the financial backing and global publishing reach of Electronic Arts we can focus on becoming a major force in the world of entertainment."
