Boy exhausted after mammoth CS session
Cafe owner to blame?

A report on Ananova today, discusses the dangers of prolonged gaming sessions after a boy was taken to hospital after playing Counter-Strike solidly for nine days and nights. The fourteen year old from Romania was playing over the net via a local internet café, and doctors at the hospital said he was both mentally and physically exhausted.
The boy's mother said he had lost weight, stopped washing, skipped classes at school, and even stolen from his own home to fund the addiction. Surely this is a time when the café owner should have had 'quiet word' before the situation got out of hand? The boy's mother is to press for rules which exclude those of school age from such establishment's after 10pm.

Lost Wait? Heh... nice one, Luke.
Damn CS. Damn it. Not only is it a pathetic game in itself, it breeds pathetic, health-endangering habits.
I know how this guy felt, having attended a few of the I series LAN parties here in the UK. Search the site for more info on that.
But... goddamn 9 days! Impressive effort, but someone should have given him a slap and told him to go home
The Pro: he had lost weight... He was able to withstand for 9 days...
The Con: eventually, he ended up in the hospital...
New laws eh? Did nobody think to ask the mother what the hell she was doing letting a fourteen year old dissappear for nine days....
I'm all for negating national stereotypes, but those eastern Europeans are a bunch of crazy ivans!
I'm sorry? What?
Hello.. just saw this link on a American website. I don't understand how people these days simply can not take resposiblity for their children.. I mean cmon.. Who in their right mind would let their 14 yr old go off to an Internet Cafe and play their for 9 days. Sure i could see the kid skipping class to go play, (I have done it) but cmon.. that Mother doesn't seem to care that much about her kid. Hell he stoped washing himself.. If i ran the place, I would kick him out for stinking my place up! And to top this off.. the kid was playing CS.. can't that damn game just die already.. been out since 1998.
