Codemasters Idolatry
Pop Idol game. This Christmas.

Codemasters today confirmed that they've snapped-up the publishing rights to games based on the ratings-winning Pop Idol TV shows. The first game spawned from this new deal will see the light of day this autumn on PC and PS2, just as the second series of Pop Idol enters the final stages on UK television. I can barely contain my enthusiasm.
Over forty popular tunes will be available for budding starlets to perform in this music-based rhythm-action game, that lets players create, style and train a Pop Idol contestant and compete as a singer all the way to the finals. Oh, the joy (as you may have guessed, I'm not a fan).
The final nail in the gaming Pop Idol coffin? The fact that a virtual Simon Cowell will be included. Great.
