PS3 2.0 firmware update expected soon
Changes afoot?
The PS3's version 2.0 firmware update could arrive any day now, according to the latest online chatter, with related features set to hit the PSP handheld as well.
The PSP recently hit 3.72 firmware, ushering in Remote Play features, which will be enabled once firmware 2.0 reaches the PlayStation 3 itself. Apparently, patch 2.0 will allow players to browse the CrossMediaBar while playing games - and we're expecting other significant improvements, too.
The 2.0 update could also allow players to launch the PS3 remotely using Remote Play on the PSP (assuming said PSP has been updated to 3.72). Both systems can be updated wirelessly using the appropriate menu option - and in the meantime we'll keep you posted on any fresh word on what the 2.0 upgrade actually does.
More soon, then.
