As the battle for system domination reaches the shores of European in the coming months, a lot will be said for the relative merits of the various gaming platforms available. Hence we're guaging your opinions, and we'd like you to decide based on pricing, the games, the ease of use (and your own personal preference, natch), which of the following platforms offers the best way forward in gaming: PC, Xbox, PS2 or Gamecube. UPDATE: Well the results are in and five-hundred of you casted votes in the poll. The voting went as follows:
PC - 46%
Xbox - 22%
Playstation 2 - 16%
Gamecube - 14%
No surprise at the eventual result, really - the PC romping home with a wide margin, though it was interesting to see the Xbox beat the PS2 by several percent. I wonder whether this will be reflected upon the Xbox European launch. We shall see...

Well it will stay the same for the next few years the PC will drive the hardware along to higher standards,the odd inovation or to and another 1000 FPS. But i look apon the Xbox as a new breath of fresh air on the console scene, although we wont benefit from this fully for a while until broadband is widespread, the PS2 is good for another year or so as its looking a bit old hat, i own 1 and the games comeing out right now are very good GTA3,MGS2 etc, but the Xbox games are going to be far more varied with the harddrive attached. As for the Gamecube well if there selling that for £150 you only now that it aint much chop its Nintendos weakest console yet, and they need to push the console more on the gamer than the Pokomon chewing fanatics or we will see another huge giant falling from the sky, but with the handheld sales i dont think there that botherd what anyone thinks.
Guess its an Xbox for me well it was anyway i put down my deposit a month ago.
I've never had any time for Playstations. The first one lacked any great console games (compare mgs to mario64). Nor did it have any great games by PC standards.
I am a big fan of Nintendo, although to be honest this is on the strength of the zelda and mario frachises, plus rareware's games - the rest of the stuff for the N64 was unforgettable crap, as it will be for the GC.
I feel that the X-Box will triumph here. Not because it is a better than the others, but due to the marketing power of Microsoft.... How will we resist? They will obliterate all of thier competition, just like they always do. Damn them. Personally I would like to see the GC do well, it makes a change for things to be that cheap!
I like PC and PS2, I'm not sure how X Box and GC will do, but I think that Sony have certainly assured themselves a place in the market no matter how well they do. I will probably buy an X Box, but my PS2 will still have its place of honour.
I think the PS2 is better than the xbox because when i play the xbox i didn't liked how the images looked like but whe i bought the PS2 i liked it because i looks better.

Since this is a web-based poll, It is obvious that the PC would be the most popular because anyone interested in the poll would most likely be a computer gamer. I bet if you did a survey sample of a random area, you would find that those numbers are totally wrong. Think about who will be answering these questions!!

PS 2 is the very, very best console ever made.
Ih have them both (PS 2 X-box) , and Im teling you that PS 2 is better. It has a good collection of games, much bigger than X-box, and it haves many supports, like Online playing. So, I can safely tell you that the PS 2 is better. I have the PC too, but i don't play games on it.

I belive that the xbox is the best system there is pc is always too complicated anyway what can't you do on a xbox that you can do on a computer theres only onething surf the web woooo Thats not gaming thats surfing I want to play the game i like with out having to type every five sec for some idot that don;t undder stand how to play a game right thats a wast of good playing time instead you could be playing xbox live and with a confortable head set talking to people face it xbox is a whole lot better!!!!!!!!!!

k people i have like an xbox and a pc and i was wondering weather i should get a ps2 or a gamecube
A pC doesnt really class as a console, as it can be constantly upgraded, while others cant. Also, the question is slightly unfair towards Ps2 and GC, as it seems to bee based on which is the most powerfull, not best for gaming experience.
My PC collection is 75 games
My PS2 collection is 48 game cases plus Mega Man AC cause that's 8 more games
My Gamecube Collection is 24 games
My DC collection is 40 games
My Xbox collection is 26 games
Therefore I like PC the most [ 35%]
Secondly PS2 because it's [22%]
The most obvious reason is my PC graphics rock! It is true that everyone owns a PC and 1 console from this gen. I love RPGs and 95% of them are on PS2 and PC. Make sense? Good.

Gamecubes are best, smoothest graphics, smallest, most styleish, cheapest, best controllers AND games, and nintendo have been in the bisuness for the longest, they know what they're doing.
