Microsoft internet rival AOL have teamed up with console rival to provide voice and chat facilities for the PS2, it was revealed today. The new technology will take advantage of the PS2's long-awaited 40gb hard drive, and will allow gamers to communicate with other PS2s and PCs.

The service will be called AIM Talk, but seems unlikely to be released until 2004.
