The "disruptive" Wii console is certainly living up to its reputation, word reaching us today that the console gate-crashed the world's most important movie event - The Oscars ceremony.

The Oscars took place in Hollywood last night, with No Country For Old Men storming the awards, but it was Nintendo's covert appearance that will no doubt have Sony and Microsoft seething at just how "mainstream" the Wii is.
Returning from one of the show's innumerable commercial breaks, host Jon Stewart was caught half way through a game of Wii Sports Tennis, much to the amusement of the assembled film industry.
Jon Stewart is of course the irreverent host of the satirical Daily Show stateside.
"It was a funny moment, and in keeping with Stewart's contemporary wit," beamed News.com
