A retailer-focussed conference being held by Computer Entertainment stateside could finally have offered-up a 4 date, the platform holder promising "Q2", while retailers hint that June 12th could see the game in stores.

Sony apparently told the Destination PlayStation conference that it will bundle Metal Gear Solid 4 with 80GB consoles and a Dual Shock 3 controller.

"To coincide with the much-anticipated North American (Hey, and European - Ed!) launch of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots in late Q2 2008, SCEA will introduce a bundle, which will include an 80GB PS3, the upcoming blockbuster Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and a DualShock 3 wireless controller for $499.99 (MSRP)," read word on the Sony blog this morning.

No June 12th confirmation, then, but those sneaky retailers have been known to spill the beans in the past...
