Japan: DS was best-selling console of 2007
Dual-screener tops 6 million
Famitsu have this week published figures which reveal that the DS handheld was the best-selling games platform of the 2007 financial year.
Ninty's touch-screen handheld boasted sales of 6,343,547 for the twelve months covered (in Japan alone), with the Wii literally miles off the pace in second on 3,741,946.
Third-placed console was the PSP, with 3,427,971 and the PS3 romped home with 1,197,418.
The Xbox 360, meanwhile, didn't even manage 250,000 for the entire year.
On the games front Wii Fit was number one with 1.76 million sold, then there was Mario Party DS on 1.66 million followed by Wii Sports (unbundled in Japan) on 1.62 million.
More as we get it.
