Famitsu have this week published figures which reveal that the handheld was the best-selling games platform of the 2007 financial year.

Ninty's touch-screen handheld boasted of 6,343,547 for the twelve months covered (in alone), with the literally miles off the pace in second on 3,741,946.

Third-placed console was the PSP, with 3,427,971 and the romped home with 1,197,418.

The 360, meanwhile, didn't even manage 250,000 for the entire year.

On the games front was number one with 1.76 million sold, then there was Party DS on 1.66 million followed by Wii Sports (unbundled in Japan) on 1.62 million.
