The embargoes have passed, the wraps are off, and we can today tell you that Spyborgs is officially on the way from Capcom, the Japanese firm offerings us a co-op focussed game.

A cartoon-style is mooted, and the game is being crafted by Bionic Games. You'll play as a 'super-spy', the publisher introducing us to Bouncer, while also mentioning the equally colourful Stinger, Voxel and Clandestine.

Based on gesture and standard controls, Spyborgs will see you battling from a third-person view, tackling devilish two-person puzzles as well as beating up bad guys. The singleplayer game promises lashings of tongue-in-cheek violence, while the fun will be split down into episodes.

Capcom promise to mix up the action a lot, incorporating boss battles, team segments and more - with Bionic Games said to be founded by ex-Insomniac staffers - which explains the stylisation.

A release in 2009 is on the cards.
