Google have this week launched a new persistent world called Lively, a free to use MMO-style experience which is entirely based in the web browser.

Lively 3D cartoon visuals, and supports Windows XP and Vista via the Firefox or Internet Explorer browsers.

Lively lets you craft a virtual avatar through which to navigate the world, and you can design your own virtual home in which to meet friends, as well as communicate and share media such as videos and photos.

You can jump into Lively right now, all you need is a ID, although the product is still in beta phase so there might be a few hiccups.

More shortly.
