GTI Club+ coming to PS3
CoinOp to console conversion
Konami have announced that they are bringing the 90's arcade classic GTI Club+ to the Playstation 3. The racer will feature all-new HD graphics and expanded gameplay over it's arcade ancestor.
Those familiar with the arcade machine will remember the trademark handbrake control used to negotiate sharp turns. We're promised all four of the rally cars from the original and many new vintage and modern vehicles running at 60fps at 720p with all the arcade modes of it's forbearer. Online play will allow upto eight of your mates to battle it out.
The title is the first next-gen game from Konami's European R&D facility and will be developed by the SUMO studio.
In line with most racer titles currently personalisation is key, with the game allowing control over paint jobs and decals.
Other features include huge open courses, a SatNav to help you around, 5.1 sound, remixed music from the original, voice comms, Eye Toy HD support, and replays. Pretty comprehensive then, no?
"GTI Club+ brings the fun back to racing games and offers incredible value for money," spouted Dave Cox. "It is the most ambitious and expansive addition to the PlayStation Network to date, and brings one of the most exciting coin-ops of yesteryear bang up to date with stunning HD visuals, all new in-game elements and the ability to add new elements to keep the gameplay fresh."
Expect the game to be available via the PlayStation Store in November.
