Microsoft Game Studios executive Phil Spencer has today told site GI.biz that there is plenty more in the pipeline - indeed, it sounds like there's an awful lot more on the way from the IP, the big boss hinting at two or three new projects.

"There’s more than one team building Halo games right now," he teased. "There are more than two or three teams building Halo things right now… some of them we will own, some of them we won’t."

Quite what this last part of the statement means, we're unsure, but speculation in recent months has pointed to some form of team-based Halo, perhaps coming from Bungie, while another developer (perhaps Gearbox?) could be working on a full Halo sequel. A Peter Jackson-related title is also thought to be on the way... is it not?

Still, this is all conjecture - let's hope put us out of our misery soon.

    I am presuming that he means that some of the concepts or early design ideas won't make it much part a prototype phase if they are crappy. Still is a pretty odd statement to make!
