Speaking to this site, 2 producer Louis-Pierre Pharand has confirmed that there will almost definitely be a Far Cry 3 - although he isn't sure at this point whether it will be a quick-fire '2.5' style offering, or another epic undertaking like his present sequel.

"I'm not going to lie and say "I don't know if there will be a Far Cry 3". There will be a Far Cry 3, I don't when," he admitted, adding, "two or four years... I don't know."

He continued on the lofty expectation around the new title: "The brand is a triple-A shooter, we are, in a way, reinventing the FPS genre. I expect huge things... expects that. To achieve that takes time. So... it'll go in one or the other direction... we'll see!"

Someone needs to ask Ubisoft if allowing people to edit your player created maps in Farcry 2 is optional... Everyone knows we can co-edit maps, but can we decide if we will allow them to edit our creations? The maps you create will be ranked by public once they are uploaded to Ubisofts server, don't want to crappy map maker screwing with my creations...
