Microsoft overlord has revealed that Live has been an unremitting success for the technology giant, the boss also pointing out that of the console are on the up as approaches.

"If you ask me, is going gangbusters," the exec told Mercury News. "The console is selling well."

He continued: "I certainly would say the work that we’ve done around Xbox is an unqualified success. No question about that. The product is selling very well. The Xbox is an absolute home run."

When asked whether the console's price had been cut to stop sales slowing down, the big cheese was incredulous: "That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard anybody say. All consoles start at higher prices. They always come down through the long cycle."
