MTV and have been busy. This will see the firms launch 2, a thorough polishing and enhancing of the original formula, complete with improved drums and new, realistic guitar controllers. We've also just learned that the developer are also plotting a new game, due out late next year.

Speaking with this site about those titles, game designer Dan Teasdale revealed that while he has been responsible for Rock Band 2, he won't be in charge of the new Beatles project.

Instead, Teasdale will assume lead designer role on a new, unannounced Harmonix title. Rock Band 3? We're not sure... but there was a big grin on his face as he revealed: "I'm working on another new project that I can't tell you about yet."

The new Beatles game will include input from Ringo and Paul, as well as the families of departed former Beatles, while PR man John Drake offered us this on the new title: "Its been in the works for 17 months; we've been spending that long trying to get the deal done, so it's great to be able to talk about it... but we should talk about Rock Band 2, because that's pretty much all we can say on that."

Much more on this, and Rock Band 2, in our full interview.
