360 outsells original Xbox
MS continues to claim victory over PS3 in Europe
Microsoft have confirmed to MVC that global sales of the 360 have now surpassed those of the original Xbox.
The 360 has gone above and beyond the 25 million strong installed base of its predecessor, according to the report.
European Xbox chief Chris Lewis stated:
"We've already surpassed the installed base of the original Xbox - which is a really significant milestone. We've been blown away by the appetite of people to consumer digital entertainment experiences."
The recent price cut will have certainly helped the sales increase of the 360, which Lewis firmly believes has given them the upper hand over rival consoles.
"We've outstripped PS3 on a weekly run rate in all the territories we care about in EMEA - specifically the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Russia." He added.
