Despite NVIDIA graphics cards purporting to be the way games are "meant to be played", news out of the States today is likely to leave the world's largest graphics manufacturer fuming as and ATI today confirmed a new agreement that will see the forthcoming 2 (you may have heard of it), bundled with the latest generation of ATI graphics cards.

The Radeon 9800 XT and 9600 XT are to go on-sale imminently in the USA, and as Valve's creation still needs a little more time (having missed the original launch date of yesterday), ATI and Valve are instead promising purchasers of this hardware that they will receive via post or be able to download their copy of the game just as soon as it's made available.

Of course, as is so frequently the case, neither product is out in yet anyway, but with the 9800 costing $499, and the 9600 $200 stateside, It's all a tad expensive to say the least. Thanks to Eurogamer.net.
