Konami are determined to establish Metal Gear Online as one of the PS3's most important titles, and this commitment can be seen in the shape of a new campaign for the title - called Welcome Rookie - which was confirmed in today.

Apparently, the campaign is aimed at beginners, and as such it will only be made available to players who haven't installed a copy of Metal Gear Online before.

Available to new people until the 16th of February, the new campaign offers up a "special codec pack which includes new voice content and 5,000 in-game reward points which can be used to get new items for players’ characters."
