Harmonix consider Amplitude return
Rigopulos would 'love' to see PS2 classic return
Alex Rigopulos, boss of music genre masters Harmonix, has revealed that he'd love to see the groundbreaking Amplitude return as a PS3 title.
Amplitude was created by Harmonix for the PS2 back in the day, and is the precursor to Guitar Hero, the exec revealing that he'd one day like to see the series return for Sony's new system.
"That game is still close to my heart. I love it. I'd love to do a sequel to Amplitude, actually," he told Ars Technica, before admitting that other games remain his priority for now.
"For us, that lingering question of 'what are we going to do about Amplitude' is still very much out there. I would love to come back and do it right for the PlayStation 3, for example."
The exec hinted that he could revisit the game with original publisher Sony (who would presumably leap at an exclusive music release from Harmonix), but stopped short of confirming a new game.
