Global publishing giant have today lifted the lid on a brand new, officially licensed videogame, which will be called Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and will arrive alongside a new flick later this year.

Apparently, the fate of humanity once again rests with the Autobots as they once again face off against ancient rivals the Decepticons. Multiplayer looks like a highlight, players able to assume the role of both good and bad robots.

Meanwhile, the story and ongoing singleplayer battle will unfold in various locales across the globe, including Shanghai and Cairo. More varied and distinct kinds of Transformer are promised of the new title, which we certainly hope will be somewhat better than the last attempt.

Luxoflux will develop the next-gen console version, with Beenox crafting the outing while Krome are enlisted for the title.

"We are thrilled to announce that after experiencing the rush of commanding colossal robots on their own, players can challenge their friends for the first time ever in full-featured, blistering as their favorite characters," beams Rob Kostich.
