LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm and more for PSP
Assassin's Creed, Buzz, Rock Band, et al
Big news in from Sony this evening, who have officially confirmed a number of big name releases heading to the PSP handheld this very year. LittleBigPlanet is probably the biggest name on the way, and sackboy will be joined by Assassin's Creed, MotorStorm Arctic Edge, a new Buzz! as well as Rock Band Unplugged.
The big-name titles were confirmed today at a US press event, although specifics and dates were only offered sporadically.
"With a year of record sales ushering us into the new year, we continue to raise the bar on providing consumers the deepest and broadest entertainment content for every member of the family to enjoy," beamed Sony US boss Jack Tretton, speaking at the Destination PlayStation shindig.
"With new content being added every day to the PlayStation Network combined with an unmatched line up of exclusive titles on PSP, and the roll out of truly groundbreaking games such as Killzone 2 for PS3, we remain confident in our approach and strategy for another record year of growth and momentum."
The new Arctic-inspired MotorStorm will be released for the PS2 in addition to the PSP, offering new tracks, terrain and AI. It'll be set in Alaska apparently, with online multiplayer included.
The handheld version of Rock Band, Unplugged, will be the first PSP title to support DLC - EA making use of the console's WiFi connectivity - and we're expecting this music title this year.
PSP iterations of LittleBigPlanet, Assassin’s Creed and MotorStorm are also expected out by the end of 2009.

With the PSP getting spanked by the DS this push isn't unsurprising. Good to see some big name IP coming the PSP's way.
It's not dead yet, evidently.
