Square Enix snap up more Eidos shares
Japanese take-over progressing well
Japanese publisher Square Enix's ongoing take-over of Tomb Raider maker Eidos gathers pace today, the firm having now acquired an additional 11% of the company - shares formerly owned by Insight Investment Management.
The purchase cost Square Enix 32 pence per share, and brings the publisher's total holding to over 32%.
Major shareholders Pioneer, Warner Bros and Legal & General have already given their backing to Square's purchase; the firm hope to garner a stronger foothold in Western game markets via this buy-out.
Eidos is of course home to IPs such as Thief, Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, Championship Manager, and more besides. We'll keep you posted on this.
