Speaking via a new announcement at GDC in San Francisco today, have made the bold claim that their new Steamworks toolset renders measures obsolete.

Apparently, something called 'Custom Executable Generation' technology compliments existing prevention measures, rendering the system near-perfect.

"A customer friendly approach to anti-piracy, CEG makes unique copies of games for each user allowing them to access the application on multiple machines without install limits and without having to install root kits," enthuses Gabe Newell.

"As we roll out these features, we continue to look for new ways make games easier to create and better for customers to experiences."

In other news, can now be had for 50 per cent off on Steam; a very reasonable 25 USD. Now that's news.
