We today receive semi-official confirmation that 2 is on the way, technical director Pratik Patel updating his LinkedIn page with word on his latest work, including: "Dead Space 2/Project ETA."

The publisher have previously affirmed that a Dead Space sequel is planned, but this is the first we've heard on the project's actual - EA having so far focussed on their Dead Space release, 'Extraction'.

The first Dead Space, an atmospheric sci-fi title, was released in late 2008 and went down well with critics and gamers. EA will be hoping to build on the first game with stronger as they engage in epic IP building with the next release.

    This is no surpise as EA has stated they want Dead Space to become a franchise. It probably will be released sometime in 2010.
