According to chief Reggie Fils-Aime, Team Ninja's new game 'Other M' sees the series heading back to its roots; its 'traditional values', as Reggie puts it.

"A year ago, someone could have asked me, 'What's going on with Metroid?' When are we going to go back to the more traditional Metroid series versus the path that we went down with Prime? Well, here's the answer, right, in Other M," Fils-Aime beamed, chatting with Gamespot at E3.

Indeed, Nintendo could be looking to reinvigorate other older franchises in the same manner as Other M.

"Believe me, we're constantly challenging ourselves on all our key franchises, as to when's the right time to revitalise it, a how do we do it in a way that's provocative?"

More Nintendo news soon.

A new Kid Icarus game could be good, but I would actually prefer some new hardcore franchises from Nintendo. Maybe we can have some new games to balance out the 20 year old franchises.
