Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael 'the Go's a rip off' Pachter has said that he expects to cut the price of the console later in 2009.

The businessman says that Nintendo may be forced into making the move in order to meet their lofty shipment targets.

"Wii supply has finally exceeded demand, so we expect to show year-over-year decreases for the first half of 2009," he offered in a fresh research note.

"In order to hit its full-year Wii shipment forecast, we expect Nintendo to cut the price of the Wii before [the] holiday, likely to 199.99 USD."

Meanwhile, Pachter also sees a price cut emerging later this year, with likely to respond through new bundles or even a price cut of their own.
