Speaking in the wake of major E3 news, which included the unveiling of of a broader service, Facebook, and Last.fm, as well as the of - a motion-based control system - Game Studios boss has moved to offer assurances over the 360's gaming purpose.

"It happens to be a great game console. That's not going away. We want to make people understand that we're not leaving the gaming space," Kim enthused.

"I definitely think that we can expand off that base, and that gaming is still going to be an important part of entertainment."
