In an entertaining bid to prove to the masses that the media-portrayal of gaming and gamers as corrupt and evil is unfair, popular gaming community website Penny Arcade decided to set-up Child's Play - a scheme which enables gamers to buy entertainment software and hardware (and other fun stuff) to be donated to patients at Seattle Children's Hospital.
Penny Arcade have teamed-up with e-tailer Amazon who have provided a Wish List which people can purchase from, with the kids' chosen gifts being delivered to the hospital for Christmas.
Well, the first shipment for the charitable scheme arrived today, and you generous gamers have forked out a whopping $30,000 already. Great work Penny Arcade, it's nice to demonstrate that all gamers aren't antisocial demon-worshippers for a change.
