Microsoft have unveiled their latest results, the firm confirming that overall profits dropped by some 30 percent for the quarter ending June 30th.

While sales of the console are on the up, the firm's division actually saw revenues drop some 3 percent over the previous 12 months; shedding over 160 million USD.

On the other hand, losses were down at the Entertainment and Devices division, losses of 130 million USD recorded for the firm's fourth-quarter, while over a 12 month period, the division remains just about in profit: 169 million USD to be precise.

Over the course of the year some 11.2 million Xbox 360 consoles were sold, compared to 8.7 million in 2008, and while fourth-quarter sales did tail off revenues were apparently up, helping Microsoft's bottom line.

We'll bring you more on all things Xbox soon.

Um, yeah sales were up for the year, but 360 sales posted their worst quarter in 2 years. Obviously the price drop effect is wearing off.
