Microsoft have confirmed this morning that their line-up will be priced in the 1600 to 2400 Points range - although we also hear reports that players won't need to pre-purchase points in order to buy games.

Joystiq report the pricing news, also re-confirming that the new service will launch as part of a hefty dashboard update on August 11th.

A range of older first and third-party games comprise the launch roster, with and among the biggest titles being delivered.

While some of these games have only been released in stores within the last nine months, Microsoft confirm that they currently have no plans to start launching new titles on day one via Games on Demand.

More soon.
