Brutal Legend clear for release after settlement
Activision and Double Fine settle out of court
Activision were attempting to block the release of Double Fine's Jack Black-starring rock adventure Brutal Legend, but wrangling over who owns the rights to publish the game have now come to and end.
According to the latest word on the block, Activision and Double Fine have reached an out of court agreement of unspecified content, allowing the game to be be released this winter; and also negating further legal tussles.
The agreement came just a day before both sides were to present their arguments to an LA Superior Court judge, who had already delayed a ruling in order to investigate matters further.
Judge Craig Karlan had already refused to put the game's release on hold, stating that he couldn't see Activision winning through in the case, and now it seems as if the publisher might have cut their losses.
