According to boss John Carmack, the game maker were hard at work on another game before pulling the plug and beginning work on Rage.

Chatting to CD-Action, the programming wizard revealed that his team "aborted" an early title, before "rebooting into Rage".

Beyond action-racer Rage, the Bethesda-owned firm are working on 4; which will also make use of Carmack's Tech 5 game engine.
