id Software to make three big new games
Carmack reveals ambitions at QuakeCon
Speaking in a conference at QuakeCon, id Software boss John Carmack has said that the developer are in the process of hiring teams for three new 'AAA' games.
Apparently, this vast new development capacity is all thanks to the recent Bethesda take-over of the once independent developer, Carmack stating that the deal gives them big resources to play with and access to technology.
Zenimax being a privately owned company, id Software can also relax when it comes to release dates, the firm not forced in predicting schedules by zealous shareholders. id Software have previously worked with Activision and EA on other projects.
So, we don't know what these new games will be - but it sounds like the path to release will be much smoother for Carmack and co with Bethesda at the helm.
In related news, Carmack revealed that his Doom 2 RPG is very nearly complete and is presently being beta-tested.
