Big numbers for Elite over Bank Holiday weekend
Over the Bank Holiday weekend in the UK, Sales of the Xbox 360 Elite console rocketed, following Microsoft slashing 50 pounds off the system's asking price.
Apparently, sales of the top-end 360 were up 43 percent, following last Friday's cut from 250 GBP to 199 GBP.
"Sales of Xbox 360 are up 43 percent," GfK Chart-Track revealed told GI.biz. "Essentially, looking at the price, obviously it's the Elite that's done the business with those sales."
With the PS3 Slim now arriving and Sony having cut the price of their own system following an announcement at GamesCom, the next few weeks look likely to be crucial in the console battle - with Sony no doubt hoping to see sales improve, while Microsoft look to keep this onslaught at bay.
