World of Warcraft back in business in China
NetEase get online giant back live
After nearly three months off-line, World of Warcraft is at last back online in China - Blizzard having clearly served their time for switching their local service provider from The9 to NetEase.
The revised Chinese language version of the world-beating MMO was previously operated by The9, but Blizzard opted to switch the game to a different firm, prompting weeks of problems that even sparked the risk the Chinese wouldn't allow the game back online at all.
Still, the game is now live, we can confirm - NetEase also revealing that expansion pack the Wrath of the Lich King has been submitted for the consideration of the Chinese censors.
Apparently, the epic delays caused by the transition to NetEase cost both Blizzard and their new local partner dearly, but it seems both firms can now crack back on with the making of epic amounts of cash. We'll bring you more from the People's Republic as we get it.
