In his speech, Hirai spoke of the importance of the connected world - joining players together using games like and SingStar.

"These networked communities are new experiences," said Hirai in his speech (thanks Kotaku). "This has made a new model as well and this will help the game expand. The networked communities, that is Games are really the basis, the core, and can be combined with networks to increase the fun.

"The question is what do we need to develop? We have to open our eyes and be sensitive to what users want."

Apparently, LittleBigPlanet now boasts 2 million user-created stages - Hirai noting that it would take a person six hours a day for 29 years to take in all these creations.
