According to giant US website IGN, the Go will launch stateside on October 1st boasting a whopping 16,000 pieces of individual content.

A total of 225 games (including the new Minis range) will be offered from the get-go, as well as 2,300 and 13,300 TV shows.

A number of full PSP games such as the eagerly awaited and God of War: Chains of Olympus are include, and these biggies will also be joined by card-based offerings in the form of PSP versions of several big titles.

Sony hope this new look handheld can revive the fortunes of the PSP line, and they're certainly taking a plunge with the console's focus on digital delivery, a move which has already upset some traditional retailers.

I was ready today to buy the new PSP GO, but with no way to convert my current 150 UMDs I will stick to the older PSP system. If sony comes out with a conversion then i will buy one.
