Microsoft and are set for one almighty non-gaming face-off this Christmas, both platform holders set to do battle for the hearts and minds of the non-hardcore who seem to be being swayed away from the console.

With this in mind, Microsoft's non-gaming push will begin tomorrow, a new advert featuring comedy actor Simon Pegg set be delivered, pushing the high-definition offered on the via Live.

"From October 2 we're launching our own TV work explaining to consumers the broader entertainment offerings we have on Xbox 360, which is going to centre on our offerings, offerings - and then obviously the unique TV experience we've got in connection with Sky, and the service we're bringing to Live," Neil Thompson beamed, speaking to GI.biz.
