The phenomenon is in no danger of diminishing, if the latest Halo 3: ODST are anything to go by, sales of the topping 27 million USD, or 2.5 million units if you prefer.

News of this milestone once again comes from the USA Today, where Frank O'Connor has been teasing players over his vision for the series' future.

Microsoft's 343 chief has Halo all mapped out for the next six years, with comics, books and toys among his plans.

ODST was a hit with the critics in general, although praise of the title hasn't perhaps been as universal as with past offerings in the franchise. More soon.
