NPD sees PS3 take September crown
But DS still leads overall
The latest (and somewhat delayed) NPD figures are in from the US of A, revealing that - as predicted - the PS3 console was the system to beat during the month of September across the pond.
The PS3 was the month's best selling console with sales of nearly 492,000, followed by the Wii with 463,000 - the Xbox 360 somewhat off the pace on just under 353,000.
The Nintendo DS remained America's best selling game platform for the month overall with over 524,000 sales - although the month clearly belongs to Sony, who cut the price of the console and introduced the Slimline SKU during September.
The PSP, on the other hand, could only muster a mediocre 190,000 sales - although it must be noted that this tally comes ahead of the PSP Go's arrival, which took place on October 1st. The PS2 was last with a still-respectable 146,000 console sales.
More NPD news soon.

Wow only 492,000, I would have expected a lot more with a new slim console and price cut. I would have expected sales to be up around 800,000. I guess they don't have to many cards left to play now and this little burst of sales wont last. Oh they do have that wand shit, I can't wait to spank my Monkey it should be loads of fun.
