Assassin's Creed going cheap on Steam

But only in the US, and not for long

Hit Ubisoft stealth-action game Assassin's Creed is available on Steam for just 5 USD for the next 24 hours, which is quite a bargain if you're looking to warm up ahead of this winter's sequel.

The promotion for the PC version of Ubisoft's smash hit will only last until tomorrow, and only US Steam users need apply - the game still costing a whopping 20 GBP in the UK.

Still, at 5 USD this has to be a bargain - especially with Assassin's Creed II practically a matter of weeks away now.

Fingers crossed for a European promotion. Please?
