Far Cry 2 and Battlefield 2 hit Games on Demand

Xbox Live's Major Nelson is back in the firing line, the exec confirming to the world that this week's Games on Demand offerings will be Battlefield 2 and Far Cry 2 - but not everywhere.
Apparently, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat will only debut in North America and Asia at present (the game will cost 19.99 USD), while Far Cry 2 will be available in all locales except North America - also for 19.99 USD.
Quite why Microsoft insist on these regional variations, which force me to do much more typing is unclear, but we wish these big name on-demand offerings would just be available everywhere. We really do.
Both games were successful in disc form, Far Cry 2 in particular boasting some impressive FPS technology, and a lovely African setting to boot. More soon.
