Bad Company 2 to rival Modern Warfare 2, says EA
Them's fighting words
EA executives take pop shots at Modern Warfare 2, claiming Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will offer a better multiplayer experience thanks to dedicated server support in the PC version.
Seizing the opportunity to woo PC gamers disgruntled after Infinity Ward's decision to strip numerous features from the PC version of Modern Warfare 2, EA Games president Frank Gibeau trumpeted Battlefield: Bad Company 2 as a worthy alternative.
Speaking on a conference call he stated, "Deep new online play with dedicated server support ... will put Battlefield in head-to-head competition with Call of Duty for quality and online gameplay."
While the publisher won't commit to releasing mod tools, they are a step ahead of Modern Warfare 2 with dedicated server support.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is set for release on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in March 2010. A beta for the PC version is expected to start before year's end.
