Following in the footsteps of the and the PS3, the console now has its own dedicated download service - which is so far only available in Japan.

The new channel uses Wii Points, as with other downloadable offerings, and is based on a 'rental' service presently (nothing is for keeps).

Called 'Theatre no Ma' (roughly 'Wii Space') in Japan, the channel includes a predictable raft of Pokemon content in addition to goodies from and Warner.

There has been talk of US video-on-demand service heading to the Wii, as it has the PS3, but we've no word on this just yet - just persistent rumours. More Wii video news as we get it.
