Veteran game developer may have joined forces with Activision, but that hasn't seemingly prompted the demise of the exclusive Project Gotham Racing series.

Apparently, car manufacturer Tesla may have in fact inadvertently revealed that Project Gotham 5 is in the works.

Speaking on their corporate blog, the company revealed that a Game Studios team has been visiting in order to record sounds from the firm's Roadster, with the team partly comprised of PGR developers.

"A team of sound engineers from Microsoft Game Studios (some working on Forza, some on Project Gotham Racing) asked if I was willing to take my Roadster to a track so they could record a variety of sounds," revealed one Tesla employee.

Microsoft, of course, "do not comment on or speculation". Make of this what you will.
