No doubt fuelled by the recent price drop, Wii was a popular purchase in the US over the Thanksgiving holiday last week. Impressive as half a million consoles is, that figure is down from last year's haul of more than 800,000.

Even more telling that the Wii honeymoon is ending are solid and sales. touted the PS3's successful 440,000 holiday run, while coyly admitted more than twice the number of consoles had been sold over the previous week. Without an exact figure, though, it's impossible to place 360 in the line up.
