Nintendo fat from record DS sales

More than 1 million DS and DSi handhelds were sold over the Thanksgiving weekend in the US, trumping a 550,000 run by Wii during the holiday.
No doubt fuelled by the recent price drop, Wii was a popular purchase in the US over the Thanksgiving holiday last week. Impressive as half a million consoles is, that figure is down from last year's haul of more than 800,000.
Even more telling that the Wii honeymoon is ending are solid Xbox 360 and PS3 sales. Sony touted the PS3's successful 440,000 holiday run, while Microsoft coyly admitted more than twice the number of consoles had been sold over the previous week. Without an exact figure, though, it's impossible to place Xbox 360 in the sales line up.
Only pumpkin pie proved more popular than gaming over the weekend.
